Do catholic sisters(nuns) required to relocate?

Hello.
I am a university student who is interested in joining a catholic order to become a Sister.
Does living as a sister prevent me from seeing my friends/relatives/parents?
Are catholic nuns or sisters required relocate to different parts of the country if the order asks them to?

It really depends on the order.

If you become a cloistered sister, you parents and siblings and friends will be able to visit you on scheduled occasions.

If you are in an order that has a different apostolate, such as teaching or nursing or working for a diocesan office, then you'll probably have vacations from time to time when you can go home.

Some orders have apostolates in various countries; others are located only in one nation. Either way, you have to go where you are sent -- vows of obedience are always part of the deal.
